Curb The TV Habit In three straightforward Steps
Identify when and why you watch and change your habits Do you sometimes turn the tube on when you return home from work? Why? Do you turn it on in the second afternoon when the children get home? Why? Regularly the television goes on when we are exhausted or bored. If you're exhausted, you either need to : get more sleep or do more exercising. So instead of automatically flipping on the TV, why don't you go for a 10 minute walk to refresh yourself? Or, take a nap! If you're turning on telly to'zone out' and decompress after a busy day, try developing a new, more healthy habit. Write in a book. Put your feet up on the settee and hear music. A television doesn't belong in the bedroom! Keeping one there's not good for a marriage and bad for your love life! It also makes a contribution to sleeplessness. Put the TV in an inconvenient place like the cellar. Cover it with a blanket.
Give up wire. I am able to think about about one thousand other ways to spend $50 a month ( Starbucks, anyone? ) and my man would possibly spend all his time watching the Discovery channel rather than speaking to me! If you live in a semi-rural area, you won't even get any channels if you cancel your wire service. But that'd be a pleasant thing if you're trying to limit TV! You may use the TV as a'movie machine' and lease DVDs so that you can at least control the content better. Here's to turning off the TV and turning on life!
